A few weeks ago we met up with a friend for a photography day. We decided to go to Yokohama! First we visited the new Nissan building!
I got to see this amazing car: The Nissan Skyline R35 GTR Spec-V. I have to say, I would like to have this one :P.
Remi preparing his video shoot ;-).
Other cars at the Nissan building weren’t very interesting so we left he building and decided to walk towards China Town. We figured by the time we were there it would be dinner time!
We walked by these houses and they really stood out from the rest of the scenery (sorry for the bad pic!). Everywhere you looked there were huge skyscrapers and then there were these cute little houses. Turns out these are model houses build just for show. People get to look inside the houses before deciding which one they would like to get build in the countryside (mostly outside Tokyo). No one actually lives in them… I thought this was pretty interesting!
Japan’s tallest building, the Landmark Tower standing 295.8 m (970 ft) high (thanks Wiki!). And then there is this ship. Built in 1930, Nippon Maru is a retired sailing ship that is permanently docked at Minato Mirai. In the background is the Cosmo World Ferris Wheel.
You can probably tell, I loved the position of the sun. :P. Remi was looking at Satoru taking pictures.
We love Japanese food, but it was nice to eat some Chinese food again! Kinda missed it. We finally reached China town and chose a restaurant with the best deal. We ordered a set menu (6 different kinds of dishes, soup and dessert) for 1.600 yen each person. Not bad!
After walking the whole afternoon it was nice to just sit down and relax with nice food. Let’s face it, we’re old! But it was getting dark so we went out again for some night shots. Good thing we brought our tripods with us!
Minato Mirai view.
We had a fun time shooting pictures and just enjoying the scenery in Yokohama. We have to do more of these days :).
